Advice to the Single-Unmarried

I want to take a moment to speak to young men who are seeking a wife, also, to young ladies wanting a husband.

Young man, if you have an addiction to pornography, do not be deceived to believe that marriage is going to fix this for you. Please deal with this sin BEFORE you marry. Pray, repent, confess your sin; go to men you trust to help overcome this sin first. You will hurt and destroy another person if you do not do this first.

Young woman, if you have such an addiction, I advise you to do the same. If you do not have such a struggle and begin to suspect the young man you are dating-courting has this problem…RUN AWAY as fast as you can unless he is willing to admit his sin and deal with it BEFORE he marries you.
This is my advice to my daughters.

Please…PLEASE…take this advice.

Also, elders and parents, please do not facilitate this false idea either. I repeat…MARRIAGE DOES NOT FIX this kind of DESTRUCTIVE SIN…rather this sin–crouching at the door, ready to devour–will destroy the marriage and the home and ALL the lives involved.

Self-control, by prayer, the word of God, in the Holy Spirit and openness and honesty, IS POSSIBLE. It is our promise that we are partakes of the divine nature…in Christ all things are possible. Amen.

The Law of Prayer

Jesus Christ, God’s Leader and Commander of His people, lived and suffered under this law of prayer. All His personal conquests in His life on earth were won by obedience to this law, while the conquests which have been won by His representatives since He ascended to heaven, were gained only when this condition of prayer was heartily and fully met. Christ was under this one prayer condition. His Apostles were under the same prayer condition. His saints are under it, and even His angels are under it. By every token, therefore, preachers are under the same prayer law. Not for one moment are they relieved or excused from obedience to the law of prayer. It is their very life, the source of their power, the secret of their religious experience and communion with God.

O Lord, Do Not Delay!

Make haste, O God, to deliver me! O Lord , make haste to help me! Let them be put to shame and confusion who seek my life! Let them be turned back and brought to dishonor who delight in my hurt! Let them turn back because of their shame who say, “Aha, Aha!” May all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you! May those who love your salvation say evermore, “God is great!” But I am poor and needy; hasten to me, O God! You are my help and my deliverer; O Lord, do not delay!
Psalm 70:1‭-‬5 ESV

Carefully Obey His Voice

“Behold, I send an angel before you to guard you on the way and to bring you to the place that I have prepared. Pay careful attention to him and obey his voice; do not rebel against him, for he will not pardon your transgression, for my name is in him.

“But if you carefully obey his voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.
Exodus 23:20‭-‬22 ESV

Help Us, O Lord Our God

And Asa cried to the Lord his God, “O Lord , there is none like you to help, between the mighty and the weak. Help us, O Lord our God, for we rely on you, and in your name we have come against this multitude. O Lord , you are our God; let not man prevail against you.”
2 Chronicles 14:11 ESV

If I Had Cherished Iniquity in My Heart

Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for my soul. I cried to him with my mouth, and high praise was on my tongue. If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. But truly God has listened; he has attended to the voice of my prayer. Blessed be God, because he has not rejected my prayer or removed his steadfast love from me!
Psalm 66:16‭-‬20 ESV
